Aushanasa Purana - Vindhyachala Mahatmya

Vindhyachala:

1. Taraka Kunda and Tarakeshwara Linga
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 6 to 8)
(Demon Taraka performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva.)

2. Narayana Kunda and Linga
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 9 to 10, 13 to 14)
(Lord Vishnu performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva gave the Sudarshan Chakra with which Lord Vishnu slayed demons Tuhundi and Hundi. Lord Shiva also bestowed great beauty to Lord Vishnu.)

3. Lakshmi Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 10 to 12)
(Devi Lakshmi performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva bestowed great beauty to Devi Lakshmi.)

4. Lord Vishnu slaying demons Tuhunda and Hunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 13 to 14)
(Lord Vishnu slayed demons Tuhunda and Hunda with the Sudarshan Chakra given by Lord Shiva.)

5. Brahma Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 15)
(Lord Brahma performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu bestowed the power of creation to Lord Brahma.)

6. Saptarshi Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 16)
(The Saptarshis performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu bestowed the Supreme Knowledge which gives Moksha.)

7. Sanakadi Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 17)
(The Sanakadi Rishis performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu bestowed the Supreme Knowledge to them.)

8. Maricyadi Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 18)
(The Marichi and other Rishis created Kundas here (and performed penance))

9. Greatness of river Ganga in Vindhyachala
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 19)

10. Dharma Kunda and Dharmeshwara Linga
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 20)
(Yamaraja performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva made him Dharmaraja.)

11. Gokarna Kunda and Gokarneshwara Linga (Kameshwara)
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 21)
(Gokarna performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva.)

12. Yogishwara Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 22)
(The Natha Yogis performed penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva bestowed on them the blessings of Siddhis. The Yogis were: Gorakshanath, Balanath, Salanath, Chimit, Karpati Bhairava, Matsyendranath, Aghoranath, Mahanath etc.)

16. Devi Vindhyavasini residing as Maha-Trikona Yantra
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 26)
(Devi Mahalakshmi resides on the Purva Kona (East), Devi Ashtabhuja (Mahasaraswati) resides on the Paschim Kona (West) and Devi Kali on the Dakshin Kona (South). The 64 Yoginis are also present in that Yantra.)

17. Origin of Devi Vindhyavasini (as the daughter of Yashoda)
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 26)
(When Kamsha tried to kill her, she took the form of Devi and vanished in the sky. She made her abode in Vindhyachala and came to be known as Vindhyavasini.)

18. Devi slaying demons Shumbha and Nishumbha
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 31)
(Devi slayed demons Shumbha and Nishumbha in the Himalayas. They were reborn again. The second time Devi slayed them in the Vindhyachala mountain as Devi Vindhyavasini.)

19. Rama Gaya
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 32 to 33)
(After killing Ravana, Sri Rama returned to Ayodhya and started ruling his kingdom. One day Sri Rama saw his father Dasharatha in Preta Yoni. Therefore, Sri Rama went to Gaya and performed the Shraddha of king Dasharatha. Sri Rama again performed the Sharaddha at Vindhyachala Kshetra at the confluence of rivers Ganga and Karnavati (after knowing the greatness of the place from sage Vasishtha). This place is known as Rama Gaya.)

22. Akrodheshwara Linga

(Akrodha Rishi performed penance here and got the darshan of Devi Vindhyavasini. Devi bestowed Brahma Jnana to him and the power to understand the scriptures.)

23. Sita Kunda
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 36)
(Devi Sita invoked all Teerthas of the Earth and established them in that Kunda.)

24. Mukti Kunda and Mukteshwara Linga
(Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 36)
(Mukti muni created this kunda and established the Mukteshwara Linga.)
