Sita Kunda

Vindhyachala: Sita Kunda:

(Aushanasa Purana - Vindhyachala Mahatmya - 36)

Meditation: I meditate on Devi Sita creating a kunda in Vindhyachala.

Lord Shiva Devi SitaGreatness of Sita Kunda: On the west of Ashtabahu Mahadevi (i.e. Devi Ashtabhuja) is Sita Kunda. Devi Sita invoked all the Teerthas of the world and established them in that kunda. Therefore, that Teertha is the purest of the pure. Bathing in that kunda destroys great sins and its darshan leads to moksha. Sri Rama has said this. On the south-western direction (Nairitya Kona) of that kunda is an image of Hanuman known as Sankatamochana, the darshan of which destroys sins, and the worship of which bestows wishes.
