ददार करजैरूरावेरकां कटकृद्यथा ॥१

Caturdasham Naarasimham Bibhrad-Daitye[a-I]ndram-Uurjitam |
Dadaara Karajair-Uuraav[au]-Erakaam Katta-Krd-Yathaa ||1.3.18||

Meaning:
1: Fourteenth in the line (of incarnations), the Lord appeared in the form of Narasimha (Man-Lion); and holding the king of the Daityas (Hiranyakashipu) who was endowed with great Power ...,
2: ... on his Thighs, he tore him with his Nails, as if his body was a Straw Mat of Erakaa grass made by a Plaiter.
