- Lord Kapila incarnated as the son of sage Kardama and Devahuti at Bindu Sarovar (identified with Siddhpur). Lord Kapila also imparted the knowledge of Samkhya philosophy to mother Devahuti in this place.
- Sri Parashurama is said to have performed Matru Shraddha (for decapitating mother Renuka) after bathing in Bindu Sarovara. So Siddhpur is also known as Matru Gaya.
- Lord Shiva abides in Siddhpur as several ancient Shiva Lingas like Siddheshwar Mahadev, Valkeshwar Mahadev, Brahmandeshwar Mahadev and Ardeshwar Mahadev.
- River Saraswati used to flow through Siddhpur. There is a Saraswati Temple in Siddhpur few kilometers away from Bindu Sarovar.
- Sage Kardama performed penance in Bindu Sarovara (identified with Siddhpur) and got sage Kapila as son who was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
