Aditi Ashrama: Devi Aditi performing the Payovrata vow and getting boon:

(Srimad Bhagavatam - Skanda 8 - 16 to 17)

• Meditation: I meditate on the Vamana Avatara of Lord Vishnu.

• Devi Aditi performing the Payovrata vow: Devi Aditi was distressed as her children had to desert her. After sage Kashyapa, her husband, came to her Ashrama after a long period of samadhi, Devi Aditi told him about this. Sage Kashyapa told her to take refuge of Lord Vishnu and propitiate Him. He gave instructions on the observance of the Payovrata vow as he had heard from Lord Brahma. In this vow, one has to worship Lord Vishnu for twelve days in the bright fortnight of the month of Phalguna (Phalguna Shukla Paksha), subsisting only on milk. Advised by her husband, Devi Aditi performed the Payovrata vow for twelve days with great concentration.

• Lord Vishnu giving darshan to Devi Aditi and granting boon: Lord Vishnu appeared before Devi Aditi in Yellow Cloth (Pita-Vasa) holding the Conch (Shankha), Discus (Chakra) and Mace (Gada) in his hands. Seeing him, Devi Aditi trembled with emotion with horripilation all over her body. She then eulogized the Lord with a stotra. The Lord told that He knew her desire, but the asura leaders are now invincible because they are protected by the brahmanas. Still He will find a way. He told her that He will be born as her son for this purpose. Devi Aditi felt highly satisfied due to the rare blessing of getting the Lord as her son.
