Vrindavana: Sri Krishna stealing the garments of the gopis:
(Srimad Bhagavatam - Skanda 10 - 22)
• Meditation: I meditate on Sri Krishna stealing the garments of the gopis in Vrindavana.
• Sri Krishna stealing the garments of the gopis: Sri Krishna stole the garments of the gopis in Vrindavana. During the winter season of Vrindavana, the young unmarried gopis worshipped Devi Katyayani and prayed to get Krishna as their husband. One day when they were bathing in river Yamuna before worshipping the Goddess, Sri Krishna stole their garments and climbed up a kadamba tree. When the gopis discovered that Sri Krishna had stolen their garments, they pleaded to Sri Krishna to return those. Sri Krishna scolded them for bathing in the river naked during the vow to the Goddess. Also to counteract this sin, Sri Krishna told them to come out of the river naked and collect their clothes. After much pleading, the gopis finally complied with what Sri Krishna had asked them to do. Sri Krishna told them that their vow will be fulfilled and they will enjoy His company.

Chir Ghat is identified with the place where Sri Krishna stole the clothes of the Gopis. There is an ancient tree in Chir Ghat which people believe to be the same tree which Krishna climbed and hid the clothes of the Gopis.
