Ambika Forest: Sri Krishna saving Nanda Maharaj from the clutches of a huge snake:
(Srimad Bhagavatam - Skanda 10 - 34)
• Meditation: I meditate on Sri Krishna saving Nanda Maharaj from the clutches of a huge snake in Ambika Forest.
• Sri Krishna saving Nanda Maharaj from the clutches of a huge snake: Sri Krishna saved Nanda Maharaj from the clutches of a huge snake. One day the cowherd men went to the Ambika forest to worship Lord Shiva and Devi Ambika on the bank of river Saraswati. At night a huge snake came there and started swallowing Nanda Maharaj. When Nanda Maharaj cried out to Krishna, Sri Krishna arrived there and touched the snake with His foot. The snake was actually a vidyadhara named Sudarshana who was cursed by the sages. Sudarshana got back his celestial body by the touch of Sri Krishna. He eulogized Sri Krishna and returned to his abode.

Ambika Forest is identified with Devi Mahavidya or Devi Ambika Temple. It is located on the outskirts of the Mathura town and is situated on a hillock. On the bottom of this hillock is a Saraswati stream and Saraswati Kund.
