Sri Krishna killing Putana and liberating her in Gokula
Gokula: Sri Krishna killing Putana and liberating her:
(Srimad Bhagavatam - Skanda 10 - 6)

Meditation: I meditate on
Sri Krishna killing demoness Putana and liberating her when she suckled Him with poison instead of milk.
•
Sri Krishna killing and liberating demoness Putana: Sri Krishna killed demoness Putana and liberated her when she suckled Him with poison instead of milk. Putana assumed the form of a beautiful woman and entered the house of Nanda Maharaj. No one obstructed her seeing her great beauty. Sri Krishna understood the intention of Putana and closed his eyes as if afraid. Putana took Krishna in her lap and tried to suckle him with deadly poison. Sri Krishna however sucked out both the poison and life out of her. In great pain she assumed her normal huge form spanning several miles and fell down dead. But because Putana acted like a mother, Sri Krishna liberated her from the life of a demoness and gave her a place in the higher abode. When the residents of Vraja cut Putana's body and burnt it in pieces the smoke emanated a great fragrance which spread far and wide.
