Gangadwar and Swargadwar

Kedara Khanda: Gangadwar and Swargadwar:

(Skanda Purana - Kedara Khanda - 106)

HaridwarMeditation: I meditate on Gangadwar and Swargadwar of Kedara Khanda.

Gangadwar: When the Suryavamshi king Bhagiratha brought the most sacred river Ganga on earth, and when that river descended on earth, the kshetra (Maya Kshetra) came to be known as Gangadwar.

Swargadwar: The learned men then considered the region north of this kshetra as Swargabhoomi and other regions belonging to Prithivi. Therefore, this kshetra came to be known as Swargadwar (Gate between Swarga and Prithivi). Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh always abide in this kshetra.
