Devas seeking refuge of sage Agastya in Kashi
Kashi: Devas seeking refuge of sage Agastya:
(Skanda Purana - Kashi Khanda - 2 to 4)

Meditation: I meditate on Kashi which bestows liberation.

Vindhya mountain rising: To compete with Meru mountain, Vindhya mountain asserted his power and started rising till he blocked the path of the Sun (which circumambulates mount Meru).

Universe becoming agitated: When the path of the Sun got blocked by the Vindhya mountain, the Sun could not rise. Then all the Yagnas got stopped. The universe became agitated.

Devas going to Kashi: The devas went to Kashi and performed religious activities for five nights before proceeding to the place of sage Agastya.

Devas meeting sage Agastya in Kashi: The devas went to the hermitage of sage Agastya at Kashi. They saw a Linga installed by the sage and a Kunda (sacred pit) in front of it. The devas met sage Agastya and sought his help. Sage Agastya agreed to help them.
