Sage Agastya telling about mental Teerthas: Sage Agastya mentioned about Truth, Forbearance, Control of the organs of the senses and organs of action, Compassion for all living beings, Straightforwardness, Religious gifting, Self-Restraint, Contentedness, Celibacy, Speaking pleasing words, Knowledge, Courage (Fortitude), Penance, Purity of Mind.
(Skanda Purana - Kashi Khanda - 6)

Sage Agastya telling about holy places bestowing salvation: The seven cities which bestow salvation are: Kashi, Kanti (Kanchi), Maya, Ayodhya, Dwaravati, Mathura and Avantika. The entire Sri Shaila bestows salvation. Kedara is superior to it. Prayaga is a greater bestower of salvation than Sri Shaila and Kedara. Avimukta is greater than Prayaga. The other holy places make Kashi accessible.
