Dwaraka: Panchanada Teertha:

(Skanda Purana - Dwaraka Mahatmya - 14)

• Arrival of Gods: I meditate on the Panchanada Teertha in Dwaraka and the several Kundas associated with Gods.

• After Sri Krishna came to Dwaraka, other gods also came there. The places associated with each god became a Teertha.

• The various Teerthas associated with the gods are:
1. Brahma Teertha (Brahma Kunda) associated with Lord Brahma (Magha Shukla Saptami is the auspicious day of worship)
2. Surya Teertha associated with Surya deva
3. Chandra Teertha (Lake) associated with Chandra deva
4. Savitri Teertha associated with Devi Savitri
5. Indra Teertha (Indrapada Lake) with Indreshwara Shiva Linga, associated with Indra deva (Makara Shankranti and Maha Shivaratri are auspicious days for Indreshwara Shiva)
6. Shiva Teertha (Mahadeva Lake) associated with Lord Shiva
7. Parvati Teertha (Gauri Lake) associated with Devi Parvati
8. Varuna Teertha (Varunapada Lake) associated with Varuna deva (Bhadrapada Poornima is the auspicious day)
9. Kubera Teertha (Yakshadhipa Lake) associated with Kubera deva

• Sage Vasishtha brought river Gomati to Dwaraka. Then Ambarisha went to Dwaraka and saw river Gomati flowing towards the sea. The Gods brought five rivers here which were purified by five sages. The collection of all the Teerthas became the Panchanada Teertha. The five rivers and the associated sages are:
1. River Gomati purified by sage Maricha
2. River Lakshmana (purified by sage Atri)
3. River Chandrabhaga purified by sage Angirasa
4. River Kushavati purified by sage Pulaha
5. River Jambavati purified by sage Kritra
