Devas approaching Devi Anusuiya for help

Anusuiya Ashrama: Devas approaching Devi Anusuiya for help:

(Markandeya Purana - 16)

Lord DattatreyaMeditation: I meditate on the Dattatreya Avatara of Lord Vishnu.

Disturbance in the universe without the Sun: The Sun failed to rise, and as days passed, there were disturbance in the universe. The devas became afraid. Without the Sun, the Vedic sacrifices could not be performed, which nourished the devas, who in turn showered the rains. Without the Sun, there was no day and night, seasons and year; and time itself came to a halt.

Lord Brahma suggesting the devas to propitiate Devi Anusuya: Lord Brahma, seeing the distress of the devas, said to them: Tejas is subdued by Tejas and Tapasya is subdued by Tapasya. Therefore, they should approach pati-vrata Anusuya and propitiate her.

Devas approaching Devi Anusuya for help: The devas went to Devi Anusuya and propitiated her. Devi Anusuya decided to help the devas.
