Lord Shiva sending Parashurama to protect the Devas

Kailasha: Lord Shiva sending Parashurama to protect the Devas:

(Brahmanda Purana - 24)

Lord ParashuramaMeditation: I meditate on the Parashurama Avatara of Lord Vishnu.

Lord Shiva sending Parashurama to protect the Devas: In the meantime, a war broke between the Devas and the Asuras in which the Asuras defeated the Devas. The Devas sought refuge of Lord Shankara in Kailasha. Lord Shankara told Indra about Parashurama performing penance in the Himalayas. He told Indra to bring Parashurama to Kailasha. Indra went to Parashurama with the speed of wind and brought him to Kailasha. Parashurama fell at the feet of Lord Shiva in devotion. Lord Shiva told Parashurama to destroy the Daityas. Parashurama said that he is not an expert in warfare, so how can he do that. Lord Shiva then transferred power to Parashurama, knowledge of missiles and gave him an Axe. Lord Shiva said that due to His grace, there will be sufficient power in him to destroy the Daityas. Endowed with the power of Lord Shiva and with his Axe, Parashurama destroyed the Daityas and protected the Devas.
