• Meditation: I meditate on the Parashurama Avatara of Lord Vishnu.

• Kartavirya Arjuna's son killing sage Jamadagni: Once Sura (the son of Kartavirya Arjuna who had escaped from the battle) went for hunting along with Surasena and army. While returning they came to the hermitage of sage Jamadagni. Coming to know that it was the hermitage of sage Jamadagni, whose son Parashurama had killed their father (Kartavirya Arjuna) they were filled with the anger of revenge. They entered the hermitage and killed sage Jamadagni with their sword and carried away his head. Devi Renuka lamented grieviously and died there itself. The other sages performed the final rites of sage Jamadagni.
