Brahma Loka: Sage Jamadagni directing Parashurama to Lord Brahma:

(Brahmanda Purana - 31 to 32)

Lord Parashurama

• Meditation: I meditate on the Parashurama Avatara of Lord Vishnu.

• Sage Jamadagni directing Parashurama to Lord Brahma: When sage Bhrigu departed, Parashurama declared his vow to kill Kartavirya Arjuna in a battle. Sage Jamadagni tried to advise Parashurama that for a sadhu, self-control and forbearance is the chief quality. Also, by slaying a king, a very great sin would accrue. However, Parashurama said that restraint does not yield happiness when directed towards man of evil actions. Hence he begged the permission from his father to kill Kartavirya Arjuna. Sage Jamadagni said that he will act according to providence. Hence let him go to Lord Brahma and ask what is conducive to his welfare.

• Lord Brahma directing Parashurama to Lord Shiva: Directed by his father, Parashurama went to Brahma Loka. Parashurama told everything to Lord Brahma who already knew the situation. Lord Brahma told him that the universe is created by Lord Vishnu (through him). The brahmanas, kshatriyas, vaishyas and shudras have all come out of Lord Hari. To kill the kings twenty-one times is difficult to accomplish since it is against the order of creation. In the world there are many kings who are followers of Lord Shankara and wear his kavacha. Therefore, let him go to Lord Shiva and ask permission. Let him get powerful missiles and a kavacha of Sri Krishna. Let him get the kavacha known as Trailokya Vijaya.
