4.1. Virata Parva - Pandava-Pravesha Parva (Chapters 1–13)
Ch 1: Pandavas discussing about Agyatavasa: Pandavas secretly discussing about Agyatavasa. Yudhishthira putting up a plan.
Ch 2: Pandavas discussing about Agyatavasa: Bhima and Arjuna telling about the appropriate works than can be performed by them.
Ch 3: Pandavas discussing about Agyatavasa: Nakula, Sahadeva and Draupadi telling about their appropriate works.
Ch 4: Pandavas discussing about Agyatavasa: Dhaumya telling about the way to stay in the king's palace. Everyone departing to their respective places.

4.2. Virata Parva - Kichaka-Vadha Parva (Chapters 14–24)

Ch 15: Kichaka and Draupadi: Queen Sudeshna sending Draupadi to the house of Kichaka.
Ch 16: Kichaka and Draupadi: Kichaka trying to molest Draupadi.
Ch 17: Draupadi and Bhima: Draupadi going to Bhima.
Ch 18: Draupadi and Bhima: Draupadi telling Bhima about her sorrows.
Ch 19: Draupadi and Bhima: Draupadi also lamenting before Bhima for the sufferings of the Pandavas.

4.3. Virata Parva - Go-Harana Parva (Chapters 25–69)
Ch 25: Duryodhana and spies: The spies coming to Duryodhana and informing that they were unable to track the Pandavas. They tell about Kichaka Vadha.
Ch 26: Duryodhana about tracking Pandavas: Duryodhana discussing about tracking the Pandavas in the assembly. Karna and Dushshasana approving.
Ch 27: Duryodhana about tracking Pandavas: Dronacharya approving.
Ch 28: Duryodhana about tracking Pandavas: Mentioning the greatness of Yudhishthira, Bhishma approving.
Ch 29: Duryodhana about tracking Pandavas: Kripacharya approving and Duryodhana resolving.
Ch 30: Kauravas attacking Trigarta and Matsyadesa: According to the suggestion of Susharma, the Kauravas attacking the Trigarta and Matsyadesa.
Ch 31: King Virata and battle: The army of king Virata going for battle with the four Pandavas.
Ch 32: Battle: Battle between the armies of Matsya and Trigarta.
Ch 33: Bhima beating Susharma: Susharma capturing king Virata. Pandavas freeing him. Bhima beating Susharma. Yudhishthira freeing him out of mercy.

Ch 37: Uttara to battlefield: Prince Uttara going to battlefield.
Ch 38: Uttara and Arjuna: Fear of prince Uttara and assurance of Arjuna.
Ch 39: Dronacharya about Arjuna: Dronacharya praising the miraculous powers of Arjuna.
Ch 40: Arjuna for weapons: Arjuna telling Uttara to get the weapons from the Shami tree.

Ch 57: Arjuna and Kripacharya: Fight between Kripacharya and Arjuna. The army of Kauravas remove Kripacharya.
Ch 58: Arjuna and Dronacharya: Fight between Arjuna and Dronacharya. Dronacharya fleeing.
Ch 59: Arjuna and Ashwatthama: Fight between Arjuna and Ashwatthama.
Ch 60: Arjuna and Karna: Conversation between Arjuna and Karna. Karna getting defeated and fleeing.
Ch 61: Arjuna and Dushshasana: Arjuna assuring prince Uttara. Defeating Dushshasana and others.
Ch 62: Arjuna fighting: Arjuna fighting with all Yoddhas and Maharathis.
Ch 63: Arjuna fighting: All Maharathis attack Arjuna. They all get defeated and flee.
Ch 64: Arjuna and Bhishma: Fight between Arjuna and Bhishma. Bhishma becoming unconscious and getting removed from the battlefield.
Ch 65: Arjuna and Duryodhana: Fight between Arjuna and Duryodhana. Duryodhana fleeing along with Vikarna and others.
Ch 66: Arjuna defeating Kaurava armies: Arjuna defeating all Kaurava armies. They return to the capital.
Ch 67: Arjuna returning: Victorious Arjuna and Uttara returning to the capital.
Ch 68: King Virata and Yudhishthira: King Virata worrying about Uttara. Victorious Uttara reaching the capital. Subjects welcoming him. Virata king reviling Yudhishthira and asking for forgiveness. Asking about the news of the battle.
Ch 69: King Virata and Uttara: Conversation between king Virata and Uttara.
4.4. Virata Parva - Vaivahika Parva (Chapters 70–72)
Ch 70: Arjuna revealing Yudhishthira: Arjuna revealing the true identity of king Yudhishthira to king Virata.
Ch 71: Virata and Yudhishthira: King Virata getting to know the other Pandavas as well. King Virata surrendering his kingdom to Yudhishthira. Proposing marriage of Arjuna with princess Uttara.
Ch 72: Uttara marrying Abhimanyu: Arjuna accepting Uttara as his daughter-in-law. Marriage of Uttara with Abhimanyu.
