Puranic Events:
1.
Lord Shiva & sage Kapila: Sage Kapila built a Shiva Lingam with white sand of this place and worshipped Lord Shiva here. It was accidentally damaged by a king's horse. Sage Kapila was thinking of building another Lingam but Lord Shiva told the sage not to replace that Lingam.
2.
Lord Shiva & sage Agastya: Sage Agastya is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva in this place.
3.
Lord Shiva & sage Valmiki: Sage Valmiki is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva in this place.
