Boy devotee Rangadasa getting darshan of Lord Srinivasa at Venkatachala

• Arrival of devotee Rangadasa at Venkatachala: Rangadasa was a twelve year old boy. He was a Shudra by birth but a devotee of Lord Vishnu since childhood. He came to Narayanapuri from Pandya country. At Narayanapuri he worshipped Lord Varaha. There he heard about Venkatadri, the place where Lord Vishnu is staying. He started his journey from Narayanapuri and reached river Suvarnamukhi. He took his bath there. Then crossing the river he came to lake Kamala. He took his bath in the lake and worshipped Sri Krishna and Balarama installed on its banks. Thereafter passing through the forest he came to Chakra Teertha, the place where Lord Shiva is worshipped. He took his bath in the Teertha and started for Venkatadri. A Vaikhanasa joined him on the way and both climbed the holy hill. They came to Swami Pushkarini. Rangadasa took his bath there.

• Rangadasa having the darshan of Lord Srinivasa: After taking bath in the Swami Pushkarini, he visited the tree in the forest on the bank of Swami Pushkarini where the Lord was residing along with Sridevi and Bhudevi. He had the darshan of the Lord there. The Lord was being worshipped by a sage called Gopinatha. Garuda of yellowish blue colour was spreading his wings over His head. The Lord was holding Shankha, Chakra, Gada, Khadga and Saranga bow with arrows in His hands. Rangadasa was filled with wonder.
