Devi Anusuiya making Sun to rise again
Mandavya site: Devi Anusuiya making Sun to rise again:
(Markandeya Purana - 16)

•
Meditation: I meditate on the
Dattatreya Avatara of Lord Vishnu.
•
Devi Anusuya making the Sun rise again: Devi Anusuiya then went to the place of the pati-vrata wife. She told her that for a wife, the devotion to her husband is the central thing. A wife through devotion to her husband, obtains half the merit of her husband. There is no separate sacrifice for a woman. The pati-vrata wife saluted Devi Anusuya and said that her faith has increased. What should she and her husband do? Devi Anusuya said that the devas are distressed and approached her. Without the Sun, sacrifices could not be performed and without the sacrifice, the devas could not get nourishment. Also, all the work stops and the world will perish through drought. Therefore, she should make the Sun rise again. The pati-vrata wife said that sage Mandavya has cursed her husband to die at sunrise. Devi Anusuya promised that she will revive her husband with the previous body. The pati-vrata wife then summoned the Sun with arghya on the tenth night. The ruddy Sun like a full-blown lotus flower appeared behind the mountain. Immediately, the brahmana fell on the ground, dead. The pati-vrata wife caught hold of her body. Then, Devi Anusuya revived the brahmana (with the power of her penance). The brahmana rose again, free from illness and becoming young again. The celestials showered flowers and played musical instruments.
