The Trisula Nathar Temple is located in Trisulam on the Guindy-Tambaram route, Chennai suburb. The Temple is located around 3 km away from the main road. Take the road opposite to the Chennai Airport bus stop which passes through the railway level crossing and go around 3 km in the interior to reach the temple.

Description:

The Trisula Nathar Temple is dedicated to Sri Shiva as Trisula Nathar and Divine Mother Shakti as Tripura Sundari Amman.

According to legend the four hills around the temple represent the four Vedas. Lord Shiva Who is the essence of the Vedas abide there and the three spikes of His Trident represent the three Shaktis - Iccha Shakti (Power behind Will), Gyana Shakti (Power behind Knowledge) and Kriya Shakti (Power behind Activities). Lord Brahma is said to have performed tapasya here invoking Lord Shiva. So the place is also known as Brahmapureeswarar.
